Maggie Elina Askew, 83, of Middletown, Passed Away on March 28

Maggie Elina (White) Askew, 83, of Middletown, wife of the late Willie Davis Askew, Sr., passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Bertie County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James and Rosebud (Cherry) White.

Maggie had lived in Middletown since 1969 and was employed at Middlesex Hospital for fifteen years. She was a member and Deaconess at Zion First Baptist Church.

Maggie is survived by her son, Willie D. Askew, Jr. (Shirley) of Cromwell; two daughters, Rosebud Hayes of Middletown and Lois Salisbury of Windsor, NC; five sisters, Annie Mae Bass, Virginia Askew, Mandie White, Irene Hill, all of Colerain, NC and Jeanette White of Edenton, NC; six grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

Along with her husband and parents, Maggie was predeceased by her brother, James Louis White and sister, Juanita Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 3rd at 10:00 am at Zion First Baptist Church, 16 James A. Moses Avenue, Middletown. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
