Middletown's upscale Asian bistro is offering a three-course prix fix menu for $20.12.

 

Malaysian cuisine combines Malay, Chinese, and Indian food traditions with Indonesian, Thai, Portuguese and Middle Eastern influences, with those of neighboring Indonesia and Thailand and the 16th-century Portuguese colonists of Melaka.

Here in Middletown, you can taste many of these exotic flavors during the third annual Malaysian Restaurant Week runs through Sunday at ― with a $20.12 three-course prix fix menu. Choose one from each course selection.

First Course:

  • Chow Kuei: Pan-fried rice cake with eggs, bean sprouts and Chinese chives in spiced soy sauce.
  • Chili Sotong: Sautéed baby calamari with sweet and sour chili sauce.
  • Nyonya Rendang Meat Ball: Sautéed beef meatball and eggplant with Nyonya curry sauce.

Second Course

  • Mee Rebus Ayam: Sautéed egg noodles, chicken, tofu and bean sprouts with potato curry. Garnish with caramelized shallot.
  • Mee Goreng: Sautéed lo mein noodles with tomatoes, tofu, string beans and bean sprouts in a sweet and spicy sauce.
  • Ikan Panggang: White fish filet with curry sambal marinade wrapped in a banana leaf, finished in the oven.

Third Course

  • Malaysian Kuih (Dessert) of the day

A wine pairing is an $12 per glass.
