Man Accused of Breaking 4-Week-Old Baby’s Collarbone: Report

Middletown Police arrested the man on child abuse charges following an investigation that began in December.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Tolland man is accused of breaking his 4-week-old baby’s collarbone after becoming enraged when he couldn’t console the infant, according to the Middletown Press.

Middletown Police arrested Michael Parreno, 28, of Belvedere Drive in Tolland, on a warrant on Sept. 9. He was charged with risk of injury to a child and third-degree assault.

The Middletown Press reports the arrest stems from an investigation that began in December when Middletown Police were called regarding a baby that was admitted to Middlesex Hospital with a broken collarbone.

The baby was also healing from a broken rib at the time, according to the Middletown Press.
