A man was seriously injured after being assaulted by another man with an aluminum baseball bat, according to police.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A man was seriously injured after being assaulted by another man with an aluminum baseball bat Friday morning in Middletown, according to police.
Police responded around 11:40 a.m. on Feb. 6 to the area of 8 Liberty Street on the report of a man hitting another man with a bat.
Officers quickly arrived and found one victim with multiple injuries, according to police.

Police said the victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Officers determined that he sustained his injuries after being struck with an aluminum baseball bat that was recovered, according to police.

Police said the suspect, 64-year-old German A. Cartagena Rosado, was promptly arrested.
He was charged with first-degree assault of an elderly person, carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, and second-degree breach of peace.
Cartagena Rosado was held in lieu of a $500,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 9.
