Man Charged In Pistol-Whipping, Shooting Incident: Middletown Police

The man is accused of pistol-whipping a person during a fight in which a round was discharged from his gun, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Hartford man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Middletown in February, according to police.

Police responded to the area of the Liberty Street and Main Street intersection on Feb. 22 to investigate a report of a shooting.

An investigation found that Kaloni Goodley, 31, had been fighting with another person, according to police.

Police said that Goodley hit the other person in the head with a gun during the incident. He also discharged a round from his gun during the incident before leaving, according to police.

The other person was injured during the fight and hospitalized, police said.

Detectives from the Middletown Police Major Investigations Unit obtained an arrest warrant for Goodley and tracked him to Hartford, Meriden, and East Hampton during the investigation, according to police.

Goodley was taken into custody by East Hampton police on April 1, police said. He was charged by Middletown police with criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm and violation of a protective order. He was released after posting a $150,000 bond with a court date of April 18, according to state judicial records.
