Man Standing On I-91 Fatally Struck By Tractor Trailer: State Police
State police are investigating a fatal accident on I-91 in Cromwell that occurred late Monday.

CROMWELL, CT — A 31-year-old Massachusetts man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 91 late Monday, state police said.
A Florida man driving a tractor trailer around 11:30 p.m. Monday was driving south on Interstate 91 in the right center lane near exit 21, state police said.
A 2014 Toyota Prius driven by Nicholas A. Davidowicz, 31, of Newton, Mass., was parked in the right and center lanes, state police said. Davidowicz was outside his vehicle and the tractor trailer driver "swerved to avoid collision," state police said.

Davidowicz ran from the center lane into the left lane, and was struck by the tractor trailer, state police said. The driver of the tractor trailer lost control and struck the driver side of Davidowicz' vehicle, resulting in the tractor trailer rolling over, state police said.
Davidowicz was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident is under investigation. The tractor trailer driver was not injured.
