Man Threatens Victim with 'Rambo-Type' Hunting Knife, Fires Shots Over $50: Middletown Police

The victim reportedly owed the man $50 and the suspect demanded that he pay it.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Manchester man faces several charges after allegedly threatening another man with a “Rambo-type” hunting knife and firing two shots in his direction over a dispute over $50, according to the Middletown Press.

The Middletown Press reports Julian J. Welch, 39, of Hilliard Street, was arrested after Middletown Police conducted a hospital interview with the victim.

The victim told police Welch demanded that he pay the $50 he owed him and that Welch punched him repeatedly, according to the Middletown Press.

Welch then drove away after the victim picked up a glass bottle to defend himself but then allegedly drove back and fired two shots in the victim’s direction, according to the Middletown Press.
