Man in Underwear Assaults Neighbor Over Parking Space: Middletown Police
The man is accused of punching the victim more than 15 times in the face while assaulting him in the apartment complex's lobby.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown man, who was wearing only underwear and a T-shirt, is accused of assaulting a neighbor in the lobby of their apartment building over a parking space, according to police.
Middletown Police responded to the lobby of Rivers Edge Apartments on DeKoven Drive on the report of two men fighting at about 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 24.
Joseph Imme, 58, is accused of punching the victim more than 15 times in the face during the assault, according to police.

Police said that Imme became upset when another tenant parked in his normal parking space due to the repaving portion of the parking lot. Imme left a note on the vehicle with his phone number for the owner to call him, according to the police report.
When the owner called, Imme requested to meet in the lobby.

As soon as Imme stepped off the elevator, while wearing only underwear and a T-shirt, he began punching and attacking the victim, according to police.
The victim suffered multiple lacerations, contusions and abrasions to his face and was taken to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. While being treated, it was learned that the victim had torn multiple ligaments in his right ankle, according to the police report.
Imme was arrested on charges of third-degree assault and breach of peace. He was also advised to not to have any contact with the neighbor.
Imme was released on a promise to appear in court on Nov. 7.
