Man Who Threatened Woman, Struggled with Police Found with Hunting Knife: Middletown PD
Police say the man, accused of yelling and creating a disturbance outside of a home, was in an "uncontrollable" state during a struggle.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Southington man faces several charges after Middletown Police say he threatened a city woman and was found to be in the possession of a hunting knife following a struggle with an officer.
Luis Gabriel Krom, 21, of Sweetheart Path, was arrested Oct. 1 after police say he was creating a disturbance outside of a Mazzotta Place home. Police responded to the scene at about 11:40 p.m. to a report of a man yelling “You going to die b----! You’re going to die alone!” according to the police report.
The responding officer saw a man riding his bicycle on the grass near the area where the complaint was made. As he got close to the police cruiser, the man (later identified a Krom) turned into the driveway of a Mazzotta Place home and hid behind a vehicle, according to the police report.

The officer parked the cruiser and ran toward the location, yelling for the man to stop but Krom jumped into large overgrown bushes in front of the home in an attempt to hide, according to police.
When the officer attempted to pull Krom to his feet, Krom is accused of yelling “What are you gunna do!? What are you gunna do b----!?” at the officer, according to the report.

A struggle ensued and both Krom and the officer fell to the ground and police said Krom wasn’t fazed by hitting his nose and forehead on the pavement and continued to struggle. Two more officers arrived and assisted with controlling Krom, police said.
Once Krom was handcuffed, police noticed that he had dropped a “long fixed-blade hunting knife with a wooden handle” and the blade was about 5 inches long, according to the report.
While officers waited for an ambulance to arrive on the scene and evaluate Krom, who police said was in an “uncontrollable” state and continued yelling non-stop, saying such comments as “I’m going to kill your whole family” and other obscenities.
Police also found a second knife, a smaller Swiss Army-type knife, where Krom had been lying and twisting around on the ground. They also found four packets of Suboxone in his pants pocket and police learned he did not have a prescription for the Suboxone, according to the police report.
Krom was arrested on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance, simple trespass, interfering with an officer and breach of peace.
Krom was held on a $50,000 surety bond and it was reduced to a promise to appear after his arraignment. He is due back in court on Oct. 14, according to the state judicial website.
