MARC Receives Generous Donation from Armani Restoration

MARC Community Resources (MARC) was met with a pleasant surprise early one morning in October 2018 when Joan Avery from Armani Restoration contacted MARC to let them know they’d like to “help out” in any way possible. Armani partnered with the Connecticut Mason Contractors and East Coast Wall Systems for their annual charitable fund drive. The MARC community is incredibly grateful for this generous offer, “It is a wonderful day when someone calls to donate or volunteer”, says Marcy Goodman, Director of Special Events.

On December 12th, Linda Iovanna, President and CEO of MARC, visited Armani Restoration to receive the monetary gift of over $2,400 raised by the employees and staff from all organizations and the match from their respective employers. “The money is going to help us tremendously and beautify the home of six people here in Middletown that is greatly needed. Positive outcomes always occur when we all come together to resolve matters in our community. We are honored that Armani Restoration, CT Mason Contractors and East Coast Wall Systems selected MARC as their gift recipient this year,” said Iovanna. With state funding cuts, Armani recognized the increasing need within their community. These funds, coupled with funds received from the Arlene R. Mazzotta Fund established in 2017 by Laura Pedersen at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, will be used to renovate the kitchen at one of MARC’s residences located in Middletown, and to sponsor an outing to be planned within MARC’s Recreational Respite program.
