The non-profit, commercial-free station has been on the air "live and local" 24/7 since 1969, broadcasting a mix of music, preaching, teaching, news and public affairs programming. The station employs over 20 Connecticut residents. Its call letters stand for "We're In His Service."

A resident of East Hartford, Harper has been with WIHS since 2019, serving as an on-air announcer, show producer, and Community Outreach Coordinator.
