Memorial Day Parades

This Weekend In Middletown

The Westfield Fire Department will hold its 122nd consecutive Memorial Day Parade & Service on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. The Parade forms at the Westfield Firehouse on East Street and steps off at 2 p.m. promptly. A stop will be made at the Old East Street Cemetery and again at the Firehouse and the World War II War Monument. From there we parade to the Miner Cemetery for the Service.
After the service, we march back to the Firehouse for refreshments.

Anyone or group that wishes to take part in the Parade and services should be at the Firehouse by 1:30 p.m. In case of rain, the service will be held at the Firehouse.

The theme of this year’s Monday Main Street Memorial Day Parade is Jewish War Veterans. The parade will start at 10:30 a.m. at Spring and Main Street, move south on Main Street to Union Green at Pleasant and Main Street. There will be a ceremony on Union Green after the parade. Parades have been held on Main Street in Middletown as early as 1890, so you will be participating in a long standing tradition.
