Call for Volunteers
Manes & Motions Therapeutic Riding Center in Middletown relies heavily on volunteers to fulfill our mission of rebuilding lives through the horse and human connection. We urgently need volunteers for our Fall Session, starting on September 10, 2024.

We offer various volunteer opportunities, including working with participants, horses or performing office tasks. Volunteers who work directly with participants will collaborate with PATH International certified instructors to assist in equine-assisted activities. Specifically, we are looking for 10-15 new volunteers for the following roles:
Side Walkers: Side walkers walk alongside the horse during the riding lesson, help with questions, encouragement, and other support that assists the rider in working toward their goals. No prior horse experience is required for this role. Side walkers can gain experience to become horse leaders.
Horse Leaders: Horse leaders assist with rider safety through proper handling and leading of the horse This role is open to individuals with solid horsemanship skills and requires additional training.

Volunteers typically commit to one class per week for a full semester. The Fall Session runs from September 10 to December 14 (a total of 13 weeks). The relationships you build with participants, horses, fellow volunteers, and staff will stay with you for life.
