Middletown Company Acquired By Texas-Based Corporation
The company has been based in Middletown for nearly 60 years.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown-based A&A Office Systems, Inc. has been acquired by UBEO Business Services as the company looks to expand its operations in the Northeast, officials announced Wednesday. UBEO is a provider of printer, copier and document management solutions.
A&A, a 58-year-old company, is headquartered in Middletown with more than 80 employees, including 25 technicians that cover the state and western Massachusetts.
“We’re thrilled that A&A is now part of the UBEO family of companies and enthusiastic for the opportunity to build on their legacy,” Jim Sheffield, president and CEO at UBEO, said in a statement. “After a year and a half of tremendous growth, expansion in this region was always part of our plan. We needed an exceptional partner to make this happen, and A&A is that partner.”

“After running a successful business for 58 years, which started with repairing typewriters, we are looking toward the next phase for A&A,” Sullivan said. “We’ve adapted through the years to increase our service and equipment offerings and UBEO brings yet another level of technology that will help us keep our edge.”
A key focus of the partnership will be the retention of current teams. While A&A is now a UBEO company, it will continue operating under its existing name and will retain its leadership and local support staff, including the ongoing operation of the call center located in Connecticut. The acquisition will allow A&A to compete on a national level, with a robust support system, and potential for additional growth and local jobs.
“We are laser focused on continuing to put our customers in the driver’s seat and providing a supportive work environment to our A&A team,” Sullivan added. “What we’ve seen from UBEO is that they share this focus and this made us feel secure in making this important decision for our future.”
UBEO, founded in 2004, has operations across Texas and Louisiana, as well as in California where it acquired Ray Morgan Company a year ago. UBEO is Co-headquartered in Austin and San Antonio, and merged with Sentinel Capital Partners in April 2018.
