Middletown Department of Social Services Relocating
The department is moving to another location within the city.

The state Department of Social Services is re-locating its Middletown field office to a larger facility at 2081 South Main Street (Route 17) on Monday, Nov. 9, according to a press release from the department.
The old office at 117 Main Street Extension closed on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015, at 4 p.m.
“The new office will have upgraded service areas, ample parking and other improvements for the public and about 70 staff members,” the press release stated. “DSS clients in Middletown and nearby towns are receiving mailed notices that the agency is moving from its long-time address at 117 Main Street Extension to the new office on South Main Street/Route 17.”

Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
South Main Street/Route 17 is served by Middletown Area Transit bus service. DSS administers services for children, families, adults, people with disabilities and the elderly, including health care coverage, food and nutrition assistance, child support services and temporary family assistance.
