MIDDLETOWN, CT — The City of Middletown is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on Wednesday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Middletown City Hall, 245 deKoven Drive. The city said all eligible donors are encouraged to take part.

According to the city, donating blood is intended to help patients in need, support local hospitals and strengthen the community’s emergency preparedness. The announcement states that the upcoming drive will be held at City Hall as part of that local effort.

People who want to donate can make an appointment through the Red Cross in several ways. The city said appointments can be scheduled by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED CROSS, or using the Blood Donor App and entering the sponsor code MiddletownCT.

The announcement also includes an incentive for people who come to donate. According to the city, those who give blood will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. The city also said donors will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of two $7,500 gift cards.

The blood drive is scheduled to run for five hours at City Hall, giving residents a midday option to donate locally. The city’s notice does not list walk-in details, but it does provide multiple ways for eligible donors to reserve a time in advance.
