Middletown Little League All-Stars Vie for State Championship Slot

Looking for something to do Wednesday? Why not head on over to Seamster Park next to Memorial Elementary School in East Hampton to watch some Little League softball.

A team of spirited and talented All-Stars from Middletown will face off against Simsbury Little Leaguers tonight in East Hampton for the 9-10 Section 2 tournament.

Softball players are competing for the right to advance to the state championship in Darien this weekend.

Middletown is 2-2 and still has a shot at qualifying for the title game on Thursday. Of course, they will need to win on Wednesday against Simsbury and then get some help.

So come on out and cheer for Middletown, any of the other great teams or all the kids for getting this far. Not a fan? That's OK. Seamster Park is a great place for a walk and to take in the sights and sounds of three games being played at the same time. You can also grab a burger, hot dog or any of a number of other options at the snack bar. The food is very good (I've eaten there twice this week) and reasonably priced.

In the event Wednesday's games get rained out, and rain is in the forecast, the schedule will be moved to Thursday with the Championship Game on Friday.
