Middletown Mother Sleeps While Children Roam Outside: Police

"Not this again," she reportedly said when officers awakened her. The DCF and fire marshal were called to the home.

A 34-year-old Middletown woman was taken into police custody after her two children were observed running near their 55 Tryon Street home as she slept on the couch.

This is reportedly not the first time the children, ages 2 and 4, have been left unsupervised, NBC Connecticut reported. In the WFSB video below, the home is described as unsafe for anyone to live in, according to police.

Lea Miceli’s children were placed in the care of their father and the Department of Children and Families. Police said Miceli struggled to answer basic questions on her name and birthday.
