Middletown Nursing Home Fined For Resident’s Fall: Report
The nursing home was fined nearly $7,000 by the state Department of Public Health after a quadriplegic resident suffered a broken femur.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Water’s Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Middletown was fined $6,960 by the state Department of Public Health after a quadriplegic resident suffered a broken femur during a fall while receiving care from a nurse aide, according to the Connecticut Health I-Team.
Cara Rosner of the Connecticut Health I-Team reports the resident fell off a bed when one nurse aide was changing a bed sheet. The resident was supposed to have the help of two staff members for bed mobility, according to Rosner.
