Middletown Police Arrest Adlebrook Academy Student for Allegedly Threatening School
The student allegedly threatened to blow-up the school Friday.

An 18-year-old Adlebrook Academy student was arrested Friday after he allegedly threatened to blow-up the school.
Police responded the the school on South Main Street on March 6 around 9 a.m.
Officers learned that student Tyler Atkins of Hamden had allegedly threatened the school and that he was walking away from the school while being followed by staff.

He was taken into police custody and transported to police headquarters.
A teacher stated to police that Atkins became upset when he found out he couldn’t take additional money from his $30 limit set by the school and that he threw a chair. He also allegedly threatened to punch the teacher in the face during the next school week.

A male teacher intervened after Atkins got up and walked toward the teacher in a threatening manner, according to police.
Atkins then allegedly threatened the male teacher and then threatened to blow up the school. He then walked out of the school.
Atkins was charged with first-degree threatening and breach of peace.
