Middletown Police Arrest Homeless Man Who Allegedly Stole War Memorabilia

The apartment the man allegedly stole from was abandoned.

An abandoned Butternut Street apartment in Middletown was the scene of alleged thefts by a homeless man, The Middletown Press reported.

The man was identified as Albert Knous, 55. He was arrested after police received an anonymous tip that someone was going into the 179 Butternut St. apartment.

Police told The Middletown Press that Knous had allegedly taken World War II-era bullets and medals.

The man was arrested on charges of third degree burglary, sixth-degree larceny and attempt to commit a crime.
