Middletown Police Chief Issues Statement On Fatal Shooting In Bristol

Two police officers were killed and another was seriously injured in a shooting Wednesday night in Bristol.

The following statement was issued by Middletown Police Chief Erik Costa following Wednesday night's shooting in Bristol, CT, that killed two police officers and left another injured.

The Middletown Police Department is saddened at the news of this senseless act of violence that took the life of two Bristol police officers and injuring a third.

The Middletown Police Department sends its deepest sympathies to Chief Brian Gould, the Bristol Police Department and the families of Sergeant Dustin DeMonte and Officer Alex Hamzy, who lost their lives. MPD stands with our brother and sister officers in Bristol as they grieve.
