Middletown Police Continue Search for SUV in Fatal Hit-and-Run Accident
Police are asking for the public's assistance with any information to help them track down the evading SUV that struck and killed a resident

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the SUV that struck and killed a 61-year-old resident in a hit-and-run accident.
Barbara Eddinger was struck and killed by an SUV while she was at her mailbox on Chamberlain Road at about 2:17 p.m. on March 31.
Police said the vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV and was driving eastbound on the wrong side of the road when it struck Eddinger.

Eddinger was transported to Middlesex Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed or has any information regarding the fatal hit-and-run to contact them at 860-638-4000.

“We are looking for ALL midsize dark colored SUV’s that have new damage to the front end of the vehicle,” police said in a press release. “The driver might have been a male with dark hair or wearing a dark hat at the time of the incident.”
Police said information on any tip may remain anonymous.
