Middletown Police Increasing Traffic Enforcement At Busy Intersection

Police said officers will be taking enforcement action at the intersection during commuting hours and periodically throughout the day.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — The Middletown Police Department will be increasing enforcement efforts on drivers who make illegal left turns onto Rapallo Avenue, officials announced Wednesday.

“The Middletown Police Department has seen an increase in motor vehicles traveling south on Main Street turning left onto Rapallo Avenue,” police wrote in a news release. “This intersection is posted ‘No Left Turn’ because doing so creates unnecessary motor vehicle/pedestrian hazards and traffic congestion.

“Effective Immediately, Middletown Officers will be taking enforcement action at this intersection during the commuting hours and periodically throughout the day. If operators need to access DeKoven Drive during their commute, they are encouraged to continue south on Main Street and utilize Green Street or Ferry Street.”
