MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown police are sending out a warning about a scam orchestrated by home improvement company imposters.

Police said the tactic is first approaching homeowners and then pointing out repairs that need to be made in a particular home. The scammers will them demand a large deposit and then either abandon the work after a short time or not showing up at all, police said.
