Middletown Public Schools to Host Two School Supply Drives

MIDDLETOWN, CT - Middletown Public Schools have announced two upcoming school supply donation drives.

Here is the rundown:

• MPS Stuff a Truck event in partnership with Stop and Shop of Middletown and the Middletown South Fire District on Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM; a fire truck will be parked outside of Stop and Shop (416 E Main St, Middletown, CT 06457) ready to be filled with school supplies for our students.; and
• MPS Stuff a Bus event in partnership with Big Y of Middletown and our Middletown DATTCO Transportation partners on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM; a school bus will be parked outside of Big Y (850 S Main St, Middletown, CT 06457) ready to be filled with school supplies for our students.

For both events, we invite community members to donate backpacks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, notebooks, folders, and other school supplies.

The MPS Food and Nutritional Services Manager and Chair of the MPS Back to School Committee, Mr. Randall Mel, will be present at both events and will gladly welcome talking to the press. Come take pictures, video, and talk with us!

Donations will go directly to our MPS students! The donated supplies will be distributed to students at our second annual back-to-school fair on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Beman Middle School. Any supplies that remain after the fair will be distributed to our schools.
