Middletown Robotics Team Advances To World Championship
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help the team cover fees associated with the trip to the world championship competition.
MIDDLETOWN, CT— The Middletown Blue Dragon Robotics Team has qualified for the world championship in Dallas, Texas next month.
Team 9909 will take 24 Middletown High School students with four robots to stack up against the best 800 teams from more than 40 nations at the 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas in May.
The team has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover registration fees, robot repairs/parts, travel, and accommodations.

“Each student traveling has dedicated countless hours to their team and has earned the privilege to represent Middletown,” organizers wrote on the GoFundMe page. “This outstanding educational opportunity does incur substantial expenses.
“Students will be covering their flight, hotel, and transportation out of pocket. We are asking for help to lower the total cost for all students traveling.

“All funds donated will go directly to lowering students' trip expenses.

The team has raised more than $3,100 of its $5,000 goal as of Tuesday.
