Middletown’s 2017 4th Of July Fireworks Postponed Due to Weather: UPDATE

Rain date, entertainment schedule and more details announced for Middletown's annual Independence Day celebration.

UPDATE: Mayor Dan Drew said the "‪I've postponed Middletown's fireworks to tomorrow, 7/2. Thank you and see you then!"

Thunderstorms are in the forecast for Saturday, July 1, which is why the fireworks display has been postponed until Sunday, July 2.


MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown’s Fireworks Festival will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 with a rain date of July 2.

The celebration will feature music at Harbor Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the High School Jazz Ensemble. (To sign up for Middletown breaking news alerts and more, click here.)
