Middletown’s Team Gilead Raises Funds and Awareness at HMF Race

On April 7, team members will participate in the Hartford Marathon Foundation's (HMF) Harvard Pilgrim Middletown 10 Mile & 3.5 Mile

The non-profit Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) will produce the Harvard Pilgrim Middletown 10 Mile & 3.5 Mile with an estimated 1,500 participants, including a team of 350 runners and walkers from Gilead Community Services.

The organization, which serves individuals and families from Middlesex County with mental health needs, has already raised $37,000 of their fundraising goal. Training, fundraising and preparing for this race has united Gilead employees and clients as an empowered community with a common goal for health and wellness.

The family-friendly run/walk, sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, will take participants through Middletown’s country roads and Wesleyan University campus, with a grand finish on Main Street. The HMF FitKids Run offers participants ages 2-11 a ¼ or ½ mile race option, with a finisher’s medal and “Super Kids” cape.
