”This year at the Christmas Eve 4 p.m. “Children’s Mass,”
Bill Maune and Jerry Rankin from St. Pius X Rolling Deck Ministry set up (both), ushered (Bill) and served as Eucharistic minister (Jerry) for those attending downstairs in the Bill Fortin Memorial Hall while those upstairs overflowed from the pews and into the aisles. Chairs were set up and the camera already installed in the choir loft “live streamed” the Mass to these additional parishioners estimated to be between 75 and 100 strong.
Both Father Sam, who also came downstairs to serve Communion with Jerry, and Father John told me it was a HUGE success:
Personally and on behalf of RDM and the St. Pius family, I want to thank Bill and Jerry for their service and commitment to making Masses accessible to all. You guys, along with Frs. John and Sam, put a lot of effort into this to make sure everything flowed smoothly and it clearly was appreciated by everyone.
