Mom Calls 911 Too Many Times, Gets Arrested: Middletown Police
The woman is accused of calling 911 multiple times regarding a custody battle over her daughter and said police need to get her back.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown mother was arrested after police say she called 911 too many times regarding a custody battle over her daughter.
Police responded to a Maromas Road residence at about 9 a.m. on Sept. 15 after receiving a 911 call from Lea Furlong for assistance with retrieving her daughter, according to the police report.
Responding officers learned that Furlong, 49, had also called 911 on Sept. 13, the front desk on Sept. 14, and 911 twice on Sept. 15. She had called for the officer who had dealt with her on Sept. 14 but when the officer wasn’t immediately available, Furlong began calling 911, according to police.

Furlong allegedly told the dispatcher that she was “going to continue calling 911 until police did their jobs and got her daughter back,” according to the police report.
Furlong called 911 at 8:44 a.m. on Sept. 15 and again at 9 a.m. when officers were able to be dispatched to her residence, according to police.

Police said that Furlong is angry that her daughter’s father has custody of her in Maine. The custody was established by a judge in February 2016 and Furlong told police multiple times that they have to go to Maine and take her daughter back, according to the report.
Police said several other issues were going on and Mobile Crisis responded to the scene and Furlong was transported to Middlesex Hospital via ambulance for treatment.
Furlong told an officer that she was going to continue her 911 calls and that she is not going back to court for custody and that she shouldn’t have to because she is a mother, according to the police report.
Furlong was issued a misdemeanor summons for misuse of 911 and was issued a court date of Oct. 5.
