Moped Driver Severely Injured After Rear-Ending Car In Middletown
Police said the moped driver suffered head and facial injuries after rear-ending a Buick near the West Street train bridge.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A moped driver was severely injured Saturday morning when he rear-ended a car near the West Street train bridge.
According to Middletown police, the moped driver was traveling north on West Street approaching the bridge around 11:30 a.m. when a 2002 Buick Rendezvous in front of the moped slowed down for speed bumps in the roadway.
Police said the moped driver failed to also slow down and struck the rear end of the Buick.

The moped driver suffered severe head and facial injuries in the crash, police said. He was taken to Hartford Hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition.
The Buick driver was not injured.

Police did not release the names of the drivers.
