The mother was arrested after the children were found to be left alone for more than an hour, according to police.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown woman was arrested after police say she left her four children, all ages 4 or younger, home alone for more than an hour last week.
Middletown Police responded to the residence at about 3:35 p.m. on March 8 after a social services employee reported that she had an appointment with the parents but found the four children — two 1-year-olds and two 4-year-olds — home alone, according to the police report.
One of the children opened the door after the social services employee knocked several times, according to the report.
