Several Families Displaced In Middletown Fire, 3 Hospitalized
Fire officials confirmed there was a working fire on the third floor, with people trapped on the apartment's balcony.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Many families are displaced after a structure fire in Middletown, Westfield Fire Department officials said.
At around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, fire crews responded to the Hunter Crossing Condo Complex, 1 Russett Ln., for the structure fire, fire officials.
Fire officials said crews reported smoke filling the third floor when they arrived.

Fire officials confirmed there was a working fire on the third floor, with people trapped on the apartment’s balcony.
Westfield Engine 2 stretched a hose line into the building while a crew from Cromwell worked on making rescues in front of the building, and crews from Middletown made rescues in the rear.

All residents were safely removed from the building, fire officials said.
Fire officials said three patients were transported to the hospital, and multiple families were displaced.
South Fire District Middletown and City of Middletown Professional Firefighters Local 1073 assisted Westfield Fire Department.
