Learn how the industry is growing in Connecticut and how MxCC is working with students to transition them into this exciting field.

Middlesex Community College is hosting a Manufacturing Awareness Day on Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event begins in Chapman Hall and is conducted in several sites on the Middletown campus. The event is open to prospective high school students, current students, local adult education programs, as well as anyone in the public interested in the manufacturing industry.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to not only learn about Connecticut’s growing manufacturing industry, but also to speak to employers and learn about their products,” said Carolyn Sommer, who is the internship and employment coordinator for the Connecticut Advanced Manufacturing Initiative at MxCC.
After meeting at Chapman Hall, student attendees will split into groups and travel around the campus to hear different manufacturing representatives speak on a variety of industry topics including a panel on women in manufacturing.
