Nature Hike On Saturday, May 7 at 10AM

From Beth Lapin

On Saturday, May 7 at 10AM, I will offer a hike at Guida Farms Conservation Area in the southern part of Middletown, CT, in association with Middletown's Recreation Division, as part of Screen-Free Week. We will explore this 100-acre area protected by the city and Middlesex Land Trust. The Preserve offers wooded areas, open fields, and small ponds. The trip should last until approximately 11:30AM. The trails include slight uphills and could be wet in some areas.

We will wear masks while gathering in the parking area and in any location where social distancing is not possible. Thos non-vaccinated must wear masks at all times.
Wear hiking shoes, bring a snack and water, camera, binoculars if desired. Children under age 16 must attend with an adult 18+. Leashed dogs allowed.

Directions: from Route 17 south (towards Durham), take the first left after Dooley Pond onto Round Hill Road. After 0.5 mi, at stop sign at intersection with Coleman and Round Hill, turn right into parking lot. GPS: 300 Round Hill Rd.

Once you set up the account, the Rec office will register you for the hike afterwards from the sign-in sheets or you can register for hikes (and any other Rec office programs) directly. But if you haven't set up an account, they can't register you and the hike count will show up lower then it actually was. Thanks -- questions to the Rec Office: 860 638 4500
