I've heard from more than 20 people who have told me that running our event on a rainy forty degree day would have been awful. No one has yet come up to me and asked why we postponed. So thank you! We don't like disappointing supporters, and we thought then as we do now that postponing was the right choice.
So - the new date is set! Sunday, August 4th, from Noon 'till three. Many people that could not make Mother's Day have already put August 4th on their calendar. Would you do that too? Our kids will be out of school and looking for things to do, so we placed ourselves mid-summer.
Because we have a bit of time, we're going to improve the event as well. More family games, more live band s and even a few more surprises are in the works. Be sure to plan to join us on August 4th. Many of you have raised significant sponsorship donations already, and for the rest, you've got nothing but time. Get busy and raise a few dollars to support the mission of SVDM. It will mean happier families with more food available to offset missing school breakfast and lunch programs.
Thank you! For helping your neighbors, for being patient with us (1st time doing an event like this) and for being patient with Mother Nature. We're confident that she provide us a beautiful day in August. I think we de deserve one. :)
