New Market Replaces Staple Grocery Store In Middletown
The new store, which features cooked-to-order Filipino cuisine, recently opened in the former space of Middletown's iconic Public Market.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — A new market recently opened in the former home of Middletown’s iconic Public Market grocery store in the city’s North End.
Middletown Market opened at 480 Main St. to fill the vacancy of a staple grocery store, but also brought a taste of cooked-to-order Filipino cuisine to the area, according to the Middletown Press.
Owner Randy Deloso told the Press he chose the Middletown location because there are a lot of Filipino-American employees that work at Middlesex Hospital, and he also wanted to introduce Filipino food to the non-Filipino customers in the area.
