Officials also plan to break ground on a new restaurant that will be located on the campus of the 50,000-square foot medical facility.
MIDDLETOWN, CT — Middletown Mayor Dan Drew and Mayor-Elect Ben Florsheim visited the construction site of a 50,000-square foot medical facility off Saybrook Road on Thursday. Drew and Florsheim, along with Project Manager for the Heritage Medical Facility William Granuth, Economic Development Chairman Gerry Daley, Middlesex Chamber President Larry McHugh and Chamber Vice Chairman Tom Byrne participated in a press conference at the facility, which is under construction by developer Frank Gallazo.
The $12.5 million facility, at 430 Saybrook Road, is expected to create 100 to 200 jobs, according to the Middletown Press.
“This will support the growing need for world-class medical care in Middletown and Middlesex County,” the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce wrote in a post on Facebook. “Medical Development Associates are in the process of erecting one of the two buildings which will house Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons. The 30,000-square foot building will be fully dedicated to their practice consisting of medical offices and a brand new physical therapy facility.
