Nominations Now Open For Middletown Anti-Racism Task Force

MIDDLETOWN, CT – The city of Middletown is now accepting nominations for a new city task force focused on anti-racism.

The Mayor's Permanent Task Force on Anti-Racism, which was authorized by the Common Council in July, will advise the administration and promote the adoption of antiracist policies and initiatives in the city, Mayor Ben Florsheim said in an announcement on Facebook Tuesday.

The task force will have 12 volunteer members of the public and three members from the Common Council, and will have access to city staff for support on projects and initiatives.

Anyone interested in being considered for the task force may self-nominate by completing the application form online.

The deadline to receive nominations is Aug. 26 at 5 p.m. Florsheim will review the nominations and present recommendations to the Common Council for approval on Sept. 1.
