Obituary: Antoinette ‘Linda’ Galanto, 71, of Middletown

Antoinette “Linda” Galanto, 71, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 20, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital after a long illness, with her family at her side.
She was born May 20, 1947, in Middletown, daughter of the late Anthony J. Galanto, Sr. and Sophie (Szewczyk) Galanto. She attended Cromwell public schools and retired from the State Department of Labor in 2010.

She is survived by three sisters, Janice Cotter of Cromwell, Suzanne Hamel of Portland, and Cheryl Wright of Middletown, nieces, Christine Slossberg and husband Ari, Jennifer Hurta and husband Robert, great nieces, Katelyn Cotter and Morgan Slossberg, great nephews, Stefan and Shane Slossberg. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Ann Prokop, two brothers, Anthony Galanto, Jr. and Joseph Galanto.

Linda’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Middlesex Hospital Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. at Saint John Cemetery in the section at the top of Spring Street. Those who wish may make memorial contributions in Linda’s memory to CATALES, Inc., PO Box 901, Middletown, CT 06457.
