Obituary: Celia Faraci, 89; Longtime Middletown Resident

Celia Faraci, 89, a longtime resident of Middletown and wife of the late Sebastian “Chick” Faraci and daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Waz – passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Nathaniel Witherell in Greenwich.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Stanley, Frank, John, and Joseph Waz; and sisters, Mary Waz and Bernice Conniff. Celia is survived by her daughters, Michelle Cardella and her husband Gaetano of Middletown, Linda Brustman of Darien; four grandchildren, Elyse Kirschner and her husband Nate of Rockfall, Lauren Begley and her husband Trevor of the Washington, D.C. area, Emily Dombi and her husband Pete of Durham, and Kelly Brustman of Darien. Additionally, Celia is the great grandmother of four – Gianna (7), Christiana (4), Sebastian (2), and Gianmarco (1).

Celia raised her family in Middletown in a home that she and Sebastian built and was active in her church community, St. Mary, where she later served as a teacher’s aide following her career at Raymond's Engineering.

Celia is known by family and friends as a family-oriented and loving woman with a passion for life.

The family would like to thank the Nathaniel Witherell staff and Waveny Life Care Network for their care, support and compassion.

Her Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday (Oct. 24th) at 10:30 a.m.at St. Mary Church, S. Main St., Middletown. Burial will be in the State Veterans’ Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to St. Mary Church or St. John Paul II School, 79 S.
