Obituary: Edward T. Kowalczyk, 83, of Middletown

Kowalczyk was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army, and a former employee of GM.

MIDDLETOWN, CT — Edward T. Kowalczyk, 83, of Middletown formerly of Forestville, died Sunday at his home. Ed was born in Middletown, the son of the late Walter and Anna (Kondracki) Kowalczyk.

Prior to his retirement Ed was employed with GM, New Departure Division in the maintenance department. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with U.S. Army. Ed was a Communicant of Saint Mary of Czestochowa, a member of Saint Kazimierz and the Polish Knights.

Ed is survived by one sister, Maryann Markowski of Florida, also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased three brothers, Walter Kowalczyk, John Kowalczyk, Stanley Kowalczyk, four sisters, Lottie Cyrulik, Helen Hotkowski, Frances Copjec, and Josephine Banulski.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Biega Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Those who wish may send memorial contributions to Soldiers', Sailors' and Marines' Fund 864 Wethersfield Avenue Hartford, CT 06114.
