Obituary: Ellen G. (Sanford) Salafia, 77, of Middletown

Ellen G. (Sanford) Salafia, 77, of Middletown, beloved wife of Joseph Salafia died Sunday November 27, 2016 at Middlesex Hospital. Ellen was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late, Richard M. Sanford and Mary “Molly” (Fitzgibbons) LaBella.

Prior to her retirement Ellen work as a cafeteria manager for Middletown public schools for more than 20 years.

Besides her husband Joseph, Ellen is survived by a son, Chris Salafia and his wife Jennifer, a daughter, Lori Warzocha, a sister, Kathleen Blaisdell, a brother, Richard Sanford all of Middletown, four grandchildren, Troy, Kyle, Imani, Sidney, a great grandchild Raegen, also a dear friend, Donna Hicks, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday December 1, 2016 at 5 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 3 to 5 p.m. Burial will be at the State Veterans’ Cemetery at a later date.
