Obituary: George J. Markoski, 81, of Middletown
George, a U.S. Air Force veteran, won the CT Society of CPA's Gold Medal Award for scoring the highest rank on the CPA exam in 1964.

George J. Markoski, 81, of Middletown, husband of the late Bianca (LaBella) Markoski, died Tuesday at his home.
George was born in West Hartford, son of the late, Joseph and Genevieve (Sicienski) Markoski. Prior to his retirement, George was a self-employed CPA, after achieving the Connecticut Society of CPA’s Gold Medal Award in 1964, for scoring the highest rank that year on the CPA exam. He was a veteran serving with the U.S Air Force.

George is survived by four sons, Timothy of Texas, Gregory of North Carolina, Robert of Middletown and Gary of Windsor Locks, a daughter, Darlene Prevatte of Middletown, his beloved grandchildren, Christopher Markoski, John Markoski, William Prevatte, Samantha Prevatte, Amanda Prevatte and Nicole Prevatte, a great granddaughter; Daylin Markoski. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Markoski.
A funeral service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends may call prior to the service from 4 to 6 p.m. Private burial with military honors will be held at the State Veterans’ Cemetery.
