Obituary: Harvey Robert Hull, of Middletown

Harvey Robert Hull, son of the late Mildred (Talbot) and George Hull of Middletown, CT, passed away peacefully at CT Hospice on Monday, December 17, 2018 at the age of 81. Harvey was educated in Middletown public schools, received his BA degree from Wesleyan University in 1960, his MLS from Rutgers University in 1963 and continued his studies at the Columbia University (later at the University of Virginia) Rare Book School.

He retired after 35 years from the Lillian Goldman Rare Book Library at the Yale University School of Law. After retirement he assisted the staff of the Guilford Keeping Society in cataloging their library collection and volunteered at the Guilford Free Library book sales.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his aunt and uncle, Edith and Edward Armstrong, and their son, Thomas, as well as his brother-in-law, John Carey, M.D.He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sara (Carey); four children, Sara (Niclas) Ferland Richard (Heather) Ferguson-Hull, Janet (Paul) Criscuolo, and Susan (Daniel) Dennis; two sisters, Avis Hull and Sharon (Robert) Nejako; as well as 10 grandchildren, Evan and Alec Ferguson – Hull; Patrick and Neil Ferland; Evan and Alec Ferguson-Hull; Call and Jack Dennis; Samantha, Genevieve, Elizabeth, and Stephanie Criscuolo.

Calling hours will be held at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St, Guilford on Thursday, Dec. 20 from 10 – 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial will be held privately.
