After retiring as a professor with the State of Connecticut he was a psychotherapist in private practice. He is an author of many books, including Burnout: Stages of Disillusionment. He worked with the United State Navy for 30 years and was twice awarded Clinical Preceptor of the year. He has delivered workshops throughout the U.S. Canada and Europe.

Jerry was also the Director of the New England Association of Reality Therapy. He enjoyed being an umpire with the Connecticut Independent A.S.A leagues in his spare time. He was a voracious reader with a special interest history and sports. Jerry never really retired. He always was available to advise and coach his many friends with his unique brand of humor and perspective on life. Jerry’s impact on the people in his life was exceptional. He lived life bravely and fiercely with a passion that few dared to attempt. Love of my life, you did it your way.
