Obituary: John ‘Tom’ McMahon, 71, of Middletown
A Vietnam veteran, John served in the army and remained an active member of the VFW in Middletown.

John ‘Tom’ McMahon, 71, of Middletown, husband of Christine (DeBari) McMahon, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. John was born in New London, CT, the son of the late George and Helen (Martin) McMahon. Prior to his retirement, he was a personnel manager for the State of CT. A Vietnam veteran, John served in the army and remained an active member of the VFW in Middletown.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kevin McMahon and his wife Jennifer of Wethersfield; daughter, Cathleen McMahon and her fiancé Dave Liseo of Middletown; and four grandchildren, Kyla and Devin Weiss, and Avery and Kiernan McMahon. John also leaves a sister, brother, and two nieces in Groton. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Thursday, July 19th at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 310 Westfield St., Middletown, CT. Burial, with military honors, will take place in Miner Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.
