Obituary: Leoncia Sylvain Perrin, 89, of Middletown
She worked in the restaurant business since the age of 16 and went on to own her restaurant.

Leoncia Sylvain Perrin, 89, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Hartford Hospital. Born in Cavaillon, Haiti, she was the daughter of the late Bruno and Emilie (Cyril) Sylvain.
Leoncia lived in Haiti most of her life, continuously travelling back and forth to Connecticut, New York and Florida. She worked in the restaurant business since age 16 and went on to own her restaurant. She helped many people in her community get a good education, also assisted in paying for their education and assisted other businesses in getting started. Leoncia loved her family but was crazy about her grandchildren.

Leoncia is survived by two daughters, Marie Jeanne Jarda and her husband Carl of Middletown and Marie Flore Perrin of Mexico; a brother, Wilson Sylvain of Haiti; three grandchildren, Garvens, Cayes and Tarah; three great grandchildren Ava, Mia and Zyra and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Leoncia was predeceased by a son, Huberman Perrin and a brother, Lucien Sylvain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Jan. 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Saint Pius X Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may call on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leoncia’s memory may be made to Camp Hispaniola, 121 Shield Street, #251, West Hartford, CT 06133.
