Obituary: Luis Manuel Rivera Jr., 50, of Middletown

Luis Manuel Rivera, Jr., 50, of Middletown, formerly of New Haven died suddenly at his home on Friday, February 17, 2017.

Luis was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico on March 24, 1966, a son of the late Marcelo and Maria Dolores Lopez Rivera, and had resided in New Haven for 30 years before moving to Middletown five years ago. He was a self-employed handyman.

Luis is survived by three sons, Luis "Bebo" Rivera, Joel Anthony Rivera and Luis Manuel Rivera, III, all of New Haven, five sisters, Maria Rivera of New Haven, and Elisa, Sonia, Brendalis and Carmen Maria Rivera, all of Humacao, three brothers, Hector and Adalberto Rivera of New Haven and Reynaldo Rivera of Humacao, and one grandson, Jeremia Rivera of New Haven.

Luis' family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave., North Haven. Burial will be private.
